As promised, here is the list of records I have for sale. If interested, email me at - firstname.lastname@example.org
Albums for Sale (all are 12" Vinyl)
$25 each + $5 postage to Canada or USA
* note that all albums are in near-perfect condition. They are beautiful to look at! I played them only once (to record), and they have been stored in plastic record sleeves, with the vinyl separate from the jacket, to avoid that nasty ring on the cover!

"Á guðs vegum var an Iceland only release, and it consisted of our homevideos and live footage from Tijuana, Prag to name a few places. We have been looking at releasing it on DVD for the first time in the very near future, and then only available on www.smekkleysa.net, our label in Iceland. As for Murder and Killing in Hell, which is a live concert from Manchester, Academy, if my memory serves me right. This was only on vhs, and again we are trying to get the rights to it so that we may reissue it." -taken from bjork.com 4um
This is a press release which we just received, we are stunned, surprised and sugarcubed! :
"Nearly 20 years ago The Sugarcubes put out on their own label Smekkleysa SM, their first single Birthday. This release was the start to the splendid career of The Sugarcubes, and impressive releases of Icelandic artists in Iceland and abroad alike. These first steps made by The Sugarcubes have made and everlasting impact and influence on the Icelandic export of music.
It is therefor with unbound joy we announce the 20th anniversary concert of Birthday and The Sugarcubes in Reykjavik on the 17th of November. The Sugarcubes will take to the stage for the first time in 14 years.
The support of FL Group has made it possible to stage this event but all profit from the concert goes back into Smekkleysa SM who will continue to work on a non-profit basis for the future betterment of Icelandic music and artists.
Is Einar just improvising in most of the Live Zabor songs? It seems like he was just making lyrics up on the spot in such songs as "Deus" and many, many others. It was sort of annoying sometimes because it gave the song an awkward feel.
Also, today I stuck my hand into the front pocket of my backpack while singing "P-p-p-plastic," and just then I jabbed my finger onto a random shard of plastic that was in my backpack! Yeah, stupid Sugarcube-related story of the day.
Does anyone have any ideas about the Odinic symbolism of the raven in "Birthday"? I don't see how there couldn't somehow be a connection but I just don't know exactly what it is. The fact that it keeps appearing in the video and is mentioned in the song points to a deeper meaning.
Hello! I have had this song called Hrollur for awhile but I don't know anything about it, where it's from or when it was recorded etc. I am assuming it is the Sugarcubes. It may not even be the correct title. Any help will be appreciated.
Spent ages today looking at the gallery on sykurmolarnir.com - and have fallen in love with Magga... again...
I used to be in a couple of bands ages ago - since then everything has been a bit impossible, but everytime I see or hear something about them, the Sugarcubes make me more determined to get it going again.
I was reminded that I have a photo from a gig I played with a very short-lived band a long time ago - and damned if we weren't utterly Cubish. (I'll post it as soon as I can find it and scan it)
hi. i hope this community is not as dead as it looks. i love the sugarcubes but... i just joined this community for one reason.
basically, i am moving into a new apartment and i'm getting rid of a lot of stuff. i found this in my book collection - a book called Sykurmolarnir and it's by Arni Matthiasson. published in 1992. it's nearly 200 pages of pictures and text about the sugarcubes - but it's in icelandic. i bought it when i was living in iceland a few years ago thinking one day i'd learn to read it but i never did.
*beautiful* pictures though.
i'm not trying to sell it, i just want it to go to a good home. it would be nice if you paid for shipping and handling, as it's a big hardcover book (in perfect condition)... but i am definitely not looking for a profit. i'm too lazy for ebay and it's a shame to throw this book out. any takers? i'll take pictures of the thing if you want me to.
i wish they'd release "murder and killing in hell" on dvd. I don't have it, never seen it, and I want it. Ever since they released "the DVD" and Live Zabor, i've wished one little indian would complete the collection. oh well.
If you're in the U.S., I have bizarre tidings. Tracks from It's It have been surfacing as background music on... of all things... CNN. I haven't given a toss for U.S. media in years, yet this makes me strangely proud. ♥
